Jaded_Goth;

in re: Your error message image.....

That would be an "oddity" of the highest order! That screen only shows up when the DNS server closest to you can't find a match in its lookup table. Said server is supposed to go out to the root server and find a match, but apparently it isn't doing that. I have no guesses as to why.... I suggest you take up the issue with your ISP, the most likely provider of your first level of DNS. When you do so, be sure to emphasize that you can often contact the site successfully, just not every time. More to the point, other users of the site don't seem to be having that problem. (Well, not so often as to complain about it, anyway. <_<)

Good luck! Big Teeth

Oh..I give up.Oddysey,I have no idea why you interpret every passing comment as a complaint!

Thank you for your advice and explanation.I didn't know why it was happening,so I merely wanted to run it past those that have the expertise to surmise what might be happening.

Jaded_Goth, I think I would drive myself crazy if I tried to fix or resolve every problem I encounter with my system.

I have never experienced as many problems with my system since I have been playing around with some of the suggestions given on this site.

Given that not all systems and system setups are exactly the same, that could possibly be the main reason. My being stupid, and unable to follow instructions could also be a factor.

My system has been freezing up lately. This morning I could not reboot to Windows to save my life. I some how managed, after a very long time, to get to my Desktop and my Drive Image 2002 shortcut.

All my system problems are resolved, because I restored from a backup image dated 7-11-04...before I had become a member, and before making my feeble attempts at some of the suggestions given here.

My point being, Jaded_Goth, keep your system backed up. Returning to that backup image should be the first thought that comes to your mind when you encounter problems.

Please people, I am not knocking the site, or the information it offers, it's just that most of it doesn't work for me; either because my system is setup differently than yours, or most-likely, I'm a stupid person.

Hear, hear! What that man said! Or to put it another way, if you don't have a recent backup, who ya gonna call? :o [lol]

Bold_Fortune;

That part about being stupid bugs me. Listen up, Pilgrim - if I don't call you stupid, then you don't get to call yourself that either. And if anyone else here does dare to hang that appelation upon you, then they're gonna have to answer to me! (Unless it's Kye-U - I bow before his right to call a spade a spade, no doubt about that!)
