If an image is attached directly to the message instead of being "referenced" (as in the <img.....> tag), it will still be d/l'd along with the text. As it was explained to me many years ago (too many years ago Sad ), an attached image isn't "referenced", it is actually encoded as part of the original message, right from the time of orignal authorship. In my experience, OE's option to View as Text does not strip out that encoding. Perhaps I could configure it to do so, I don't know, but I'm happy with the way things are running at the moment, TYVM Smile!
