privoxy (& tor)
This post is more of a question than it is a suggestion.
For privacy, I sometimes use Privoxy [http://www.privoxy.org/] simultaneously with Tor [http://tor.eff.org/] when I am surfing the internet. Seeing that BFilter is also a webproxy, could a person use BFilter in place of Privoxy (with respect to Tor) ? Thanks. |

RE: privoxy (& tor)
BFilter can forward to Tor.
This config forwards to a locally running Tor client. tor-config.png (Size: 3.59 KB / Downloads: 837) To switch between Tor and direct connection you will have to go to Basic Configuration and change between "SOCKS4A proxy" and "No forwarding", which is not very convenient. The next version will support forwarding profiles and ability to switch between them using the tray menu. Additionally, the next version will support proxy chains, so that you can build a chain like this: BFilter -> Tor -> Other Proxy That's usefull for using Tor for places that block it. BTW, both of these features are already implemented. I am working on the GUI right now. |
