FWIW, AtGuard ceased to be a viable firewall a long time ago but the AtGuard Corporation which is made up of Former WRQ employees and AtGuard programmers has acquired rights to the software and will release an XP compatible beta very shortly. From there they will get to work patching the many vulnerabilities present in the old codebase.

I remember seeing a lot of news about them when I was a baby to the Internet! Smile!

Maybe I'll check them out once they establish themselves once again!

Kye-U;

AtGuard was "licensed" to Symantec, who repackaged it and released it as part of the Norton Internet Security Suite. It's the firewall component therein.

For my money, the original was very adaptable, with lots of options, although not a lot of help. Norton's adaptation was abysmal and abominable, as far I as I'm concerned. hp's right, the WRQ people didn't know what they had on their hands, and they fumbled the ball. They didn't update it for W2K, let alone XP, and that's when the merde hit the ventilator.

I'm half tempted to check out just who is behind this new play, and if it's the same fellas, and if this is the real deal, the I'm on board, no further questions asked.
