How About An Entertainment Section?

Bunches of tweaking sites are popping up these days. One thing that's cool about this site is it has a niche with Proxomitron going for it. So it kind of makes it a specialty site, and not just a tweaking site.

I doubt, though, that beyond a point or two in the right direction, that many members really, really need a support forum. (With the except of Oddysey, who to me looks utterly clueless.) Most look like they know what they are doing with a computer.

Then there's someone like me who's not too interested in Proxomitron. I do like camaraderie, and chatting, and sharing. But I don't particularly care for chatrooms anymore...I just found that too many women are always hitting on me...and I get so tired of all that.

Other than that, I'm betting that a few people here come for the fellowship and fun of being with people of common interests.

I was just thinking that a Music and Movies, or Arts and Entertainment section would be a nice thing to have here.

The point of a forum like this is not only to instruct, but also to exchange ideas. Anyone, no matter how knowledgeable, can benefit from that. Why add a specific topic which is totally irrelevant?

Why not start it off in the general section,Bold_Fortune,see how it goes?

I definately visit this Forum in order to pass time with others who have interests which I share.We're all still people,as well as spods and therefore I can't see why broadening discussion topics within the sub-sections of the UOPF should be greeted with hostility.

I am videoing the terrestrial network premiere of Valentine as we speak.It would've been cool to ask you guys whether it was worth it.And shall I go ahead and buy the DVD version of Reservoir Dogs?

Perhaps under the General Discussion forum, we could institute a sub-forum, titled "What Tickle's Your Fancy, Mate?"

The usual trouble with this kind of thing is that there's damn little consensus as to what constitutes proper subject material. The above title would pretty much allow a "no holds barred" type of free-for-all, which should be satisfactory, I think.

This would be of value to those who participate. Let me give you an example. I'm a really old fart, and sometimes I don't understand what I'm hearing on the alternative radio station. Think I can call them up, and have 'em explain it to me? Yeah, right. So, do I ask total strangers, or do I ask my online friends? Nearly all of whom reside right here, not to mention that I already know that several of said friends are in the correct age bracket that's most likely to be able to answer my query.

I say, if Kye-U's got the space, time and desire, then let him have it. After all, there's no test at the end of the period. If you don't wanna read that particular forum, then no sweat, right? :P
