Alpha config, possibly
Skip to post with download link

This alpha would contain a bunch of experimental changes, most of them not posted yet.
Also, it would collect hits for new list entries (again, a bunch) in Log-Rare.

It would be intended for those liking to help getting things done more quickly.
Anyone else would have no fun with it!
For this reason i don't know yet whether it would be publicly accessible or not.

So, if any (actually, at least a couple) of you like to test these changes and to send in their Log-Rare logs regularly, let me know.

Thanks Smile!

I'm currently logging the size of content matched by "<script> Remove: Ad Scripts - Noscript" (which has a scary byte limit of 32766). That produces a flood of data.

Once i'm done with it, i'll package a config.

RE: Alpha config, possibly
One thing about this new version that comes to my mind is that it is filtering application/xhtml+xml as is. That required many changes accross many filters, and in our script.

I've tested it in Firefox and Opera 9. So, if you're using Google, Safari, or any other W3C browser, here are a couple of such *real* XHTML pages. However, the content(-type) of most of these pages is browser dependend, so you *might* just get the simple HTML version. It's XHTML if the 2nd heading in the left Proxomitron menu row is bolded.

Same layout (in Fx):
http://createdbyk.com/
http://iamacamera.org/
http://uniforms2u.com/
http://upxshell.sourceforge.net/
http://www.google.com/pda

Broken layout if filtered as text/html (like in previous config versions):
http://lofotenmoose.info/css/
http://www.erweiterungen.de/
http://www.lovelycharts.com/
http://www.sydbank.dk/sydbankcom/
http://www.xstandard.com/

Various differences (embedded MathML etc.):

http://seb.mozdev.org/

Thanks Sidki.

This is my current 'condensed' Log-Rare. It is not from the Alpha. Hope that it's helpful.

RE: Alpha config, possibly
I've whipped up a simple Log-Rare.log submission system; feel free to try it out:

http://prxbx.com/sidki/index.php

The purpose of it is to save Sidki manual work by pre-processing entries (remove duplicates + sort alphabetically), and to encourage submission of Log-Rare.log files (as it is purely anonymous).

Database interaction hasn't been integrated yet, meaning Sidki won't get any logs submitted in the system yet, but it's next on my to-do list.

EDIT: Database interaction built Smile! Go ahead and submit your log-rare.log files.

RE: Alpha config, possibly
One more thing, better don't customize this config too much.
I intend to post incremental updates, as time permits - the main download link always being up to date - so it could be quite a hustle to apply your changes again and again.

Having a little problem with Reuters:
http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/i...7120090526

The first page displays okay, but clicking on "Next Page" near the bottom of the article brings up a "Page Not Found" error.

I am using IE8. Anyone else seeing this?
