RE: Prox Menu: Show xx CSS
that was the first thing that a Google search found...
but no, not what i'm looking for... this sounds promising - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4415 EXCEPT that my problem is in IE, not in Firefox... that plugin is showing that three-dot as "Tahoma,Verdana,Arial,Serif" - all of which are installed here AND at home... |

RE: Prox Menu: Show xx CSS
Hmm, that extension is reading out the responsible CSS rule (ours in this case). It doesn't say what the OS/browser is doing with it.

RE: Prox Menu: Show xx CSS
i've started tackling it differently...
i have the three-dot displayed properly on this computer... i uninstalled 397 fonts (those that the OS would "let" me uninstall)... the three-dot disappeared and is now showing that "square" (like i get at home)... now it's a matter of installing a block of fonts, opening my browser, loading a page, opening the menu, looking for square versus three-dot, closing browser... installing second block of fonts... rinse, repeat... this is my second go-around - the square appeared without closing/reopening my browser... unfortunately, even after reinstalling all 397 fonts, the three-dot did not reappear until AFTER i closed and reopened... so now they're all uninstalled again and i'm bringing them back in a second walk-through... at any rate, i WILL find the culprit font, lol... it is not Times New Roman, as that stupid IE setting would lead us to believe... (i know, you Firefox users are going to start beating me with a stick now...) |

RE: Prox Menu: Show xx CSS
No we wont.
Maybe you should better use a software to see the chars of the fonts installed, one like this |

RE: Prox Menu: Show xx CSS
my file manager has a plugin to view the fonts, but thanks for the tip...
Eureka!!! FOUND IT!!! Uninstall MS Mincho (mine is version 2.30) [filename is MSMINCHO.TTF] and the Prox Menu shows "squares"... Reinstall MS Mincho (close/reopen browser) and the Prox Menu shows the famed ol' three-dot "therefore" symbol... Q. E. D. |

RE: Prox Menu: Show xx CSS
Aha! I have Japanese script support installed in all systems, that's why. Although, in my case the extension is *.ttc.

RE: Prox Menu: Show xx CSS
that's the ticket indeed...
who would have ever thunk it? and confirmed... installing MS Mincho on the home computer fixed the three-dot rendering... of course, now my font FILE count is at 105 instead of 103 (some fonts have three or four files per font)... Arial Unicode MS (22 MEG just for a FONT?) also being installed during this "project"... |

RE: Prox Menu: Show xx CSS
that search does bring in an alpha2 needed tweak...
sidki, if you go here - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms901082.aspx - does the web paga "scroll" for you? |

RE: Prox Menu: Show xx CSS
It does scroll in Firefox, but it's broken nonetheless. An important page script is removed by the Noscript filter. The respective adjacent entries in Exceptions.ptxt need to be replaced with:
Code: ([^.]+.|)msdn.microsoft.com/ $SET(0=a_float.i_timer:2.i_noscr:2.)$SET(1=adkey_j:0.) |
