I've created a couple of legitimate Facebook test accounts to help me with my (and others) issues with the Sidki filter set and face book.

Issue 1 - Cannot Confirm Friends

Firefox Version 3.06
Sidki 2009-01-14

a) Go to http://www.facebook.com/
b) Login with the following email address and password:

[email protected]
prox0mitron

* note the zero in the password *

c) On the right hand side, there's a box that says:

Requests
1 friend request

Click on the '1 friend request' link

d) You should now be on the following page:

http://www.facebook.com/reqs.php#friend

Click on the "Confirm" button.

The word "Loading..." appears but nothing happens.
The friend request is never confirmed.

I hope this information makes sense and is enough to diagnose the problem.

OK - This is going to get tricky...someone confirmed so the problem can't be tested. Give me a second...

Very good problem description.

I followed your instructions, also with Firefox 3.06, but with the February 13 release config. The "Confirm" button did its job and "Proxomitron Tester" was added as a friend.

Consequently, the "1 friend request" link was gone, i didn't see a "revoke confirmation" option. After re-login the confirm link was back. I didn't retry, because that probably means that you have to reset friends again and again.

I'd suggest that you move to the release config and retry, the beta isn't supported anymore anyway.

Hmmm...Every time someone tests successfully, they'll remove the ability for someone else to test.

To reset the test:
a) Login to Facebook as per the opening post.
b) Cbick on the Friends link at the top of the page
c) Click the 'x' next to the Proxomitron Testerer and confirm to remove the friend.
d) Logout of Facebook.
e) Log back into Facebook with the following ID and password (this is the secondary ID, the "friend" ID):

prox0mitron

f) Search for "Proxomitron" using the search box.
g) Click on "Add as a friend" button next to "Proxomitron Testerer"
h) Logout of Facebook.
i) Log back in to Facebook as per the original post...

I have a feeling this is just going to be too complicated to test, reset and reproduce...

Anyone up for a challenge?

Please edit above post and replace the inline code blocks with attachments.

I've tried again, this time with sidki_oob, still works for me, so it may be a change that you've applied to the out of box config, or an entry in the global bypass list.

So clear your browser cache, load "sidki_oob.ptron", try again (confirming a possible certificate warning). Latter config also ignores any user-added bypass list entries. Beyond that i've no idea.

It seems to be working now...

I really have no idea why though.

I didn't replace the config with the oob config.

maybe you enabled a filter for removing url redirects in links?
