Sidki's config and Flash Player
I dislike Flash Player greatly but need it once in awhile so I installed it on IE6 on a virtual machine running XP ProSP1. I had old Sidki configs on that machine so I just installed the Jan 2008 beta configs. I started IE and went to youtube and there is no Flash toggle on the page. Why?

If I go to Adobe, and try to adjust the privacy settings for Flash Player, I get the toggle switch. But if I go to http://www.speedtest.net, I see no toggle switch there either. Why?

Can you see the Flash toggle "bar"? It seems as though this is the same problem (or very similar) to the one in http://prxbx.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=1067

Just tried above link and youtube with sidki's Jan 2008 beta config. I can see the flash toggle bar on both sites and the toggle button worked as expected.

The http://www.speedtest.net/ is just too slow to load from my location.

I see the Flash toggle bar at the above site. I can toggle and see the flash movie.

When I go to youtube, if I click on a video it immediately plays.

This is really screwed up. I kept trying different config sets and I don't know what I did but now I see the toggle switch on all of the Sidki config sets I have and earlier I saw it on none. The toggle bar though does not look right. It is just two words in PLAIN TEXT that could easily be missed and don't even look like the words are clickable. It doesn't look like the toggle bar looks on the Flash page or the page you asked me to go to. If I click on it then I get http://www.youtube.com/active_sharing.swf
which shows me the videos being watched right now. If I click back to the main youtube page in order to click on a video in the list I get an error saying I don't have Flash installed. That's because there is no place to click the toggle bar on a specific video. The only place to click on the toggle bar produces that link above. Plus, when I click on an individual video to watch and get the error about no Flash Player, IE gets upset and I see script errors on the page. I don't know if that has anything to do with not getting a toggle bar on an individual video.

This is, I guess, the same as Wingspar's problem but also affects all of Sidki's configs as well as the orginal Proxo configs. I installed Proxfox's cleanedup version of the filters there in Wingspar's thread. I installed them on the orginal Proxo config and either they didn't merge right from the clipboard or they don't work because I still cannot view any videos at youtube with Proxo default configs or any of Sidkis. I have to bypass Proxo.

Something odd is that the toggle switch on the default orginal Proxo filters (last set from Scott) where did that come from? I never have used Flash Player much but I know I used it a little more back when I had Scott's filters in 2003 and I don't recall seeing a Flash toggle switch with his filters yet that switch is on his filters too. Do I just have a bad memory and Scott had a toggle switch that I have forgotten about?

What is even stranger now is that when I started this reply, I was able to go to youtube and click on any video and it would play. After whatever I did with trying different Sidki and the different levels of Scott's original configs that suddenly made the odd looking toggle switch appear, now I cannot play a video using ANY config set I have. That is really weird.

I don't want Flash on my default browser, Firefox, but I bet I would not have all these problems on Fx. I get the ActiveX prompts on IE and IE, for me, tends to have a lot of scripting errors and I bet this is affecting Flash on IE. Maybe I will put Flash on IE8 on another virtual machine and see what happens. I was waiting for beta 2 though...hmmm... IE8 beta 2 should be out by now I think.
