Google Search cleanup
I see google search has made some changes.
Here's what I'm using to clean it up:
Code:
[Patterns]
Name = "Remove Google Search Ads 2"
Active = TRUE
URL = "*.google.com/"
Limit = 8192
Match = "$NEST(<table,(\s[^>]+>&&*id=$AV(mbEnd)*)*,</table >)"
        "|"
        "$NEST(<div,(\s[^>]+>&&*\sid=$AV(tads)*)*,</div >)"
Replace = "<?Nako Removed Google Ad Table ?>"

Haven't tried this on every possible google site.

RE: Google Search cleanup
Your welcome DarthTrader. Smile!

Google always seems to slip by my generic ad filters.
I've yet to come up with a "sponsored links" type filter I'm happy with.
Since I Google a lot, this site specific filter is my interim solution.

Thank you!!! Yours did it! KyeU's only removes the ads on the right but yours removes them from the top also. Smile!

What, there are supposed to be ads on Google result pages?Shocked I didn't know that!! I guess Scott must've "anticipated" all of Google's shenanigans well in advance, 'cause I sure don't see 'em. And I don't have anything 'special' in that department, I use the default config for most of this kind of stuff.

Wellllll, to be a bit more honest..... I do see the right-hand colum of paid advertisers, but I want them there. I can't begin to guess the number of times that I've used the links in that column, and even if I didn't buy anything from them, I found out more info/data/detail about what I was after. They aren't randomly and obtrusively placed all over the page, so if I don't want/need them, my eyes can ignore them as needful.

JMHO, of course. Whistling

RE: Google Search cleanup
I find the sponsored links on the right very distracting. The ones at the top are not as distracting but I don't care for them either. Generally, when I do searches on Google I am not searching for something I want to purchase. I figure that if I do think the paid advertiser listings would be of help then I can always bypass Proxo long enough to see them. Wink

Obviously, I really don't like any of the sponsored links, hence this filter.
The paid links in the search results annoy me the most.

This is what makes Proxomitron truly awesome.

As an aside, if I think I need to "Bypass", I usually try disabling web filtering first.
Quite often, thats all you need. At least you'll still have your header filters working.

Thank you. That is a good idea which I had not thought about. I'll try disabling web filtering first next time.

RE: Google Search cleanup
If you know the name of the filter, or can find it easily by searching for "Google", you can just turn off that one filter.
