It is not a question of few msec. It saves me a few seconds. Yes, my ISP is located within 3km radius.
I suggest you read the all the posts under this thread. That would give you an indication about the settings. Else Here it is Primary DNS is set to 127.0.0.1 and secondary DNS servers are my ISP's DNS server IPs. Firewall is Used : Zonealarm Pro, Proxo is allowed to fuction as a Server within the Trusted zone where in the ISP's DNS servers are included and expert rules are set to allow Proxo complete access to the ISP's DNS servers. Hosts does contain only IP of frequently visited sites. access settings for Proxo : allow connection to this machine only GHP enabled. As I mentioned in my earlier posts, No of connections Persisting reduces by almost 80% which is what speed up the browsing. I use ActivePorts to monitor and you can use Sniphere for monitoring all the connections made your machine and your local Network. Garcot IE6, Zonealarm Pro, Proxo and Cable Modem |
