Yes, I patched the original Proxomitron to use a newer OpenSSL and fixed some bugs related to such, and then went the whole hog with Proxomitron Reborn.

Chaining other filters to Proxomitron is possible but I can't think of any reason why you'd want to do that; and of course Proxo itself can chain into other HTTP/CGI proxies too. These days, I think the preferred solution if you want to hide your IP and such is a VPN, which works at a lower level and doesn't require applications to be explicitly aware.

I have some ideas around advanced content filtering involving parsing HTML and structurally modifying it, but those are still in the distant future...
