Am I the only ambidextrous here?
Starlogic Optical Trackball - works with the right and the left... ball-less mouse on the underside, symmetrically centered trackball (for vertical AND horizontal scrolling [awesome in MS Excel]) on the topside... Only drawback is that the topside trackball is not optical and like the ol' mice with balls, needs "maintenance" to keep clean... |

ProxRocks;
Short answer: NOPE! ~!~!~!~!~ All; Sometimes it's good to make your hand do weird things, like using a trackball instead of a mouse for awhile. Ergonomics, and all that stuff. No real reason not to have both, then you just use whatever you want that day. No worries, mate. Ambidextrous folks usually have fewer problems with RSI and the like, we just do what's comfortable, and don't worry about which hand is doing the job. Jak! Dammit son, come around more often, eh? We need a straight man for our banjo jokes! Oddysey I'm no longer in the rat race - the rats won't have me! |

Have you seen those vertical mice devices? They're like joy sticks, but apparently, they are more ergonomic than "horizontal"-moving mice, as it is like having a nice handshake with your mouse, which is a natural position for our arms.

haven't seen one of them, will have to keep my eyes open to check one out...
as to the "we just do what's comfortable" - well, when it comes to the computer mouse, as with many functions, I myself have a "go-to" hand, the right hand... but ya gotta admit, it sure comes in "handy" when you can eat and write with the left hand while that right hand is glued to the mouse, lol... |

wouldn't go too far with that though... i know some left-handed folks that aren't worth a can of baked beans, especially not the kind with the sliced hot dog bits... |
