Thanks Kye-U but I restarted TOR a lot of times. I just can't get this to work. I had it working but now it just don't want to work. I posted a new topic so I didn't hijack this topic. I set TOR, Privoxy and Proxo up the way this post says. I download the files to be loading into privoxy and also exported them to the folder when privoxy was closed.

Yeah mine is also. My http proxy is set to 127.0.0.1 port 8080. I can't figure out why this isn't working. When I test the proxy in proxo i get this message.
"New Message Log Window....

Testing 127.0.0.1:8118
Waiting for remote proxy's reply
Proxy test Failed!
>HTTP/1.0 404 No such domain
Ending proxy test"

Hi notageek

I don't use tor, but perhaps this may be of help.

notageek Wrote:Kye-U let me ask you this. In the No proxy for line in mozilla and mozilla firebird, what do I put there?

I don't have anything entered for that. The default entry is what Kye-U posted.

With Firefox 1.5 my http proxy is set to localhost port 8080

Here's what I get when I test the proxy with proxo chained to privoxy:

Quote:Testing localhost:8081
Waiting for remote proxy's reply
Proxy DNS lookup = localhost
Proxy IP = 127.0.0.1
>GET / HTTP/1.0
>User-Agent: Mozilla/2.0 (Macintosh; I; PPC)
>Pragma: no-cache
>Host: 127.0.0.1:7734
>X-Forwarded-For: 127.0.0.1
>Connection: close
>HTTP/1.0 200 Proxy test OK
Ending proxy test

Note: I set Privoxy to listen on port 8081, not the default of 8118

While doing this test, windows firewall (XP SP2) popped up an alert asking if it should block or allow some action for proxomitron.

This makes me wonder if your firewall is blocking proxo from receiving the reply.

Thanks for replying.
I have Zone Alarm Pro. I have Proxo, privacy and to set to allow in ZAP. I do know whan I start up Privoxy, tor and Proxo and try to surf the net, I get this message in the tor caommand box "Dec 30 23:58:36:515 [notice] No tor server exists that allows exit to [scrubbed]:7734. Regecting." Next line says " Dec 30 23:58:37:765 [notice] Tried for 60 seconds to get connection to [scrubbed]:80. Giving up"

Hi notageek

notageek Wrote:I get this message in the tor caommand box "Dec 30 23:58:36:515 [notice] No tor server exists that allows exit to [scrubbed]:7734. Regecting." Next line says " Dec 30 23:58:37:765 [notice] Tried for 60 seconds to get connection to [scrubbed]:80. Giving up"

This really seems like a firewall problem.

If your running xp, make sure windows firewall is disabled if your using zap.

If your behind a router, try disabling the firewall & test the proxo-->privoxy proxy test.

If your not behind a router make sure you are physically disconnected from the net before disabling your firewall.

If the firewall can be ruled out as the problem, I think you should start troubleshooting at square one.

Verify Proxomitron can connect to the net & filter.

Try chaining proxo to an external proxy & verify that works.

Setup your browser to use privoxy instead of proxo. Set privoxy to connect to the net without tor in the loop. Verify privoxy can connect to the net (with or without filtering).

Reset your browser to use proxo. Chain proxo to privoxy & verify you can connect to the net & filter.

Once this all works, put tor back in the loop & try it.

HTH

z12, I disabled my firewall yesterday to make sure that wasn't the problem. I closed each Security app 1 by 1 to make sure nothing there was the problem. I'm going to try to connect to a site via proxy using proxo and see if that's the problem. I know that proxo blocks the ads and what not that I have it set up to block. I'm not running MS firewall at all. I'm not behind a router.

OK I tried Proxo with a proxy ip and it worked. I tried Privoxy with the files that Kye-U posted in the first post and it didn't work. I have to go back with the old files to get privoxy to work. Proxo works with privoxy with the old files that privoxy comes with. When I add tor, it don't work. I get a 404 - no such domian.
