Server load limit. Try later? - herbalist - Nov. 06, 2014 05:29 AM

I'm regularly getting a board error here that says the server is busy, to try at a less busy time. I get this message at all times of the day, any day of the week. This seems odd as it's usually very quiet here. It's getting hard to connect to the forum. Thought you'd like to know.

edit
Exact message displayed:
The maximum server load limit has been reached. Please check back later once the server is less busy.

I experience this quite often too. Sometimes I have to try more than 10 times from day to night just to post a reply.

I suppose there are something other running on the server making it busy.

Me too, I don't think the site traffice is that high that make it overload, I think other problem cause, please contact your hosting provider and let them fix Smile!

try a different DNS
i've *never* had the problems you guys are citing

It doesn't appear to be a DNS issue. I'm using OpenNIC and CCC. Same results when I connect via Tor. The website itself seems unaffected. Only the forum is a problem. I'm reaching the forum but getting the board message:
"The maximum server load limit has been reached. Please check back later once the server is less busy. "
Are you using any IP blocklists? Do they include Tor nodes?

RE: Server load limit. Try later? - herbalist - Nov. 12, 2014 05:16 AM

The problem appears to be fixed. I've had no problems reaching the forum for the last 2 days. Thanks.

Spoke too soon. The moment I say it seems fixed, it starts all over again.

I even tried to fake IP with AdvOr but still get that problem, that is weird, I never ever face problem like this before...

try NOT using OpenNIC or poc stuff like Tor
i don't have any connection issues, NEVER HAVE

you've got "man in the middle" causing problems
REMOVE the "man in the middle"

So you mean it's our issue?

RE: Server load limit. Try later? - herbalist - Nov. 14, 2014 02:36 AM

The result is the same whether I use OpenNIC DNS, OpenDNS, or your IP in the hosts file. It is not a DNS issue. Unless the IPs of Tor relays/exits are being blocked or restricted, it is not a Tor issue. I'm not connecting via Tor. My IP is also a Tor exit.

This is not a new problem but seems to have gotten worse. For me, longest load limit reached time was more than an hour.

I think, there may be a mybb based solution, http://community.mybb.com/thread-66064.html , but it could also be a busy server, economics, or...
I can't be sure which.

A little bit better at this time maybe, two days without any "Server load limit.."

RE: Server load limit. Try later? - ProxRocks - Nov. 15, 2014 10:25 AM

it has to be ISP-related

i have NEVER had any issues, every time i hear you guys say that you are i want to ask "what are you smoking"

how 'bout a screen-cap showing this mythical "server load limit"?

Easy to cap. Posting them is a little more difficult.
