Argh... Why is it that "most" Attached File dowload links on this forum result in a page within my browser loaded with 'garbly-*'?

- sidki3003 - Mar. 17, 2005 09:52 PM

*lol!* IE treats application/x-rar-compressed as text/plain. But "save target as" does work.

Seikatsu:
That GMail ad div code is matched by "<iframe>... Remove: Ad Containers I - Ad IDs". Did you try that fresh list with sidki_oob.ptron and a cleared cache?

As to the Google Search ads - Yes that helped, thanks! Smile!
The byte limit of "Google: Remove Ad Links" was too small. Can you test this filter?
Code:
[Patterns]
Name = "Google: Remove Ad Links     5.03.17 [sd jd] (d.s) WIP1"
Active = TRUE
URL = "$TYPE(htm)(www.google.|216.239.|66.102.[#0:15].|64.233.1[#60:91].)"
Limit = 20000
Match = "<"
"("
"table"
" ("
"cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0> <tr> <td valign$SET(1=tip)"
"|[^>]++(width=[23][50]%$SET(1=width)|height=40$SET(1=height))"
"|[^>]++width=$AV(100%) style="border: 1px (solid)\1"
")"
"$INEST(<table,</table)</table >"
"|tr> <td"
"("
"([^>]+>)+{2}Tip:$SET(1=tip)"
"|([^>]+>)+{3}See your message here$SET(1=adwords)"
")"
"$INEST(<tr,</tr)</tr >"
"|center> <a href=[^>]++.google.*</center >$SET(1=googlead)$SET(tAnc=)"
")"
Replace = "\r\n<!-- PROX-S: Removed by Google Ad Links Filter (\1) -->\r\n"
"$SET(sSpec=$GET(sSpec)\1.)"

I get different ad code than you do, so it may still miss something. If so, can you attach the bypassed source, so that i can fix the rest?

Ahh... Time to re-swap "engines" on Sleipnir...

I'll happily proclaim my "like" for Gecko anyday...
And equally happy to proclaim my "dislike" for 'the dead fox', er, I mean 'the bird' (yep, as in 'the middle finger')...

Sorry - I'll NEVER turn down the opportunity to "flip off" the 'dead fox'...
(but of course, you that know me already know that)... Big Teeth

I could hardly troubleshoot this config without the Firefox JS console. Wink

----------------------

Well, not much time has passed, but i don't think it makes sense to wait with the next update any longer, as there were enough changes - mostly bugfixes. As usual, it's on my download page.

Wooh, I swear the page had the March 13, 2005 update several minutes ago. That is just freaky.

Regarding Gmail... I have tried a clean Proxomitron with the March 13 .oob file in update_other.zip and another clean Proxomitron with the February 22, both with a new profile in Firefox... And those ads at Gmail are still there!!! I can't even access the page where it loads those ads, Gmail hides it so well. The only way to reveal its existence was to select the ads and use "View selection source."

But... the new "Google: Remove Ad Links" is successful [thumbs].

PS. The poor dead fox walks over to ProxRocks, strips him of his Gecko engine and walks away.

Hmmm... Maybe i found the problem. It had to do with a temporary list (Mem-Encode) and CPU speed.
Try replacing the GMail entry in IncludeExclude.ptxt with:
Code:
# Allow GMail to do its job.  SSL connects, no trailing slash here.
gmail.google.com(^/gmail\?*\&view\=ad)
  $SET(keyword=.a_rdlink.a_popup.a_redir.a_button.a_event.a_timers.a_adfn.a_adscr.)

# But block the text/plain text-ad files.
gmail.google.com/gmail\?*\&view\=ad    $RDIR(http://local.ptron/nirvana)

Cool!

I think ProxRocks is aware about his rather tragic position in this matter. Big Teeth

Sidki, you deserve lots of Popcorn Popcorn Popcorn Popcorn. I used your little snippet and now Gmail has no more ads!

On the topic of popcorn, is anybody thinking of going to watch Steamboy tomorrow?

- ProxRocks - Mar. 18, 2005 11:49 AM

Stripped of my engine? Tragic position?

What's so "tragic" about walking around "naked"?
I can think of a few co-workers that I wouldn't mind seeing walk around naked... Big Teeth

There is a figure in the Spanish literature that went by the name of Don Quixote. Funny guy, sometimes you're reminding me of him. [lol]

Phew! So all Google bugs seem to be down for now! Crazy

Don Quixote?

Nah, I'm a regular ol' Don Juan...
No wonder the ladies 'don juan' to be with me... Big Teeth

I wonder what's happening at New Scientist because I don't see any news at all. And I was trying to read that new article called "13 things that don't make sense" and there's nothing there also.

- sidki3003 - Mar. 19, 2005 11:49 PM

They probably have some problem with their database.

Hi everybody!!!

I've been testing NAOKO 4.5 CONFIG -- SIDKI 2005-02-22 (UPDATE 03-17) filter set and is very cool :P , but I found a little cosmetic problem with favicons.

When the page don't have favicon firefox don't display the default favicon from theme.

Take a look at Attachment.

How could I fix it?

TIA

- sidki3003 - Mar. 22, 2005 10:24 AM

Hi Lovecraft, nice avatar. Wink

The favicon handling in my config is currently as follows:
- All 4xx and 5xx error responses -> redirected to killed.gif (== clear.gif == transparent gif).
- Spoofed favicons -> redirected to red.gif
- All redirects that don't point to a file ending with ".ico" (maybe i should add .gif, .png, etc.) -> redirected to blue.gif

So, for those sites that show no icon (actually the transparent one) on the left of the tab, you can get back your skinned icon by unticking the "! : Redir: . Kill Image Error Responses 5.03.02 [sd] (d.0) (In)" header filter.

Downside is that you are downloading the - sometimes large - 404 error pages for each unsuccessful favicon request - and the web filters will parse them, too.

Hmm... wait... try this (untick old version and do "Configure -> OK -> Save -> Reload" a few times to get new filter into right position):
Code:
[HTTP headers]
In = TRUE
Out = FALSE
Key = "! : Redir: . Kill Image Error Responses     5.03.22 [sd] (d.0) (In) TEST"
URL = "(^$KEYCHK(^A))$RESP(([45]*)\0)*.(gif|png|ico|jpg|jpeg|jpe|bmp)(^?)&$RDIR(http://local.ptron/nirvana)$LOG(wRESP $DTM(c) : Connection killed: Image Error: \0)"
Oh, and clear your cache. Smile!

Thanks Sidky, It works.
The favicon is back [rolleyes]

You're right, unchecked this filter there's a delay when the browser try to show the favicon, sometimes load default, sometimes not... No Expression With the modification is instantaneus.

Fantastic filter pack man, a great job.

PD: I do a little modification in <a>: URL Untangler 5.03.11 (multi) [gz sd] (d.2)
including the ed2k protocol in exclusion

Code:
<a*\shref=(\\" (?*)\9 \\"|$AV( \9))( onmouse(over|out)=$AV(*))+\3

&($TST(volat=*.log:2.*)$ADDLST(Log-Main,[$DTM(d T)]\tWEB HTML_Untangled\t\4\1 \t\9 \t\u)|)

It seems to work but don't know if it's the best way to do it...
