Yes, that's what the Yahoo Login Form Filler does, except that it uses setTimeout instead of onload.
As i said, the problem at Gmail was the iframe, check it out. I for one have no time to mess with that right now.

Sidke , you were right ; one of the additional filters which I added probably corrupted your filter set since when I use your set out of box , everything works just fine . No more " page not found " when clicking on the middle of the link . Also my gmail page comes up without any problems ; I don't have to bypass Proxo . I had added Kye's Security config , Jakx's Spoofer , and some Zap2It's filters to your 12/28 config and set it as my default . It worked great except for the problems mentioned . I think I'll add stuff one at a time and not all at once this go round . Thanks for your help . Oddysey , veerrrrry interesting stuff ! Thanks

Ralph;

You're welcome, as usual. Big Teeth

However, I realized just now that I left a step out of my description about how to build the filter set. Just so that folks who analzye my work here don't scratch their heads in bafflement, let me "finish the paperwork", if you will. <_<

Under the part about learning the names of the two form fields that contain your username and password, I neglected to mention that you will be building a pair of filters that will search these out, and replacing the default value of "" (empty quotes) with your correct information. Those two are necessary to the overall operation of automatically logging onto a site. As far as I can tell, unless you mess with them in some other filter, you don't need Multi On, and it doesn't matter in what order they are loaded.

That should put the house in order. I hope! Sad

sidki3003;

Do you realize what you've done now? Do you?? I don't know whether to curse Mad with Teeth or cry Cry, I'm so beside myself. AAARRRGGGHHH!

Here I thought I had a nice simple solution all worked out, and why, oh why, did I not foresee that sidki will merely come along and blow me not just outta the water, but clear outta this world. [beatdown] Sheeeeesh! [wha]

j/k [lol] Cheers

setTimeout, eh? It's beginning to look like I'm gonna have to break down and d/l your set, and check it out most thoroughly. Sigh. I so don't have time for this. I'm already in the negative zone when it comes to free time each day. Seems like the hurrier I go, the behinder I get. [blink] :P

But I'll slog through it somehow. Just don't expect me to be coherent for the foreseeable future, OK? [rolleyes]

If you spent less time at the ehowa site you'd get things done ! Big Teeth

Now you're catching on!

In other words, if my EHOWA filters are working as desired, why bother with writing filters for other sites, right? [snicker]

Just call me a glutton for punishment. :P

re the google cached header removal filter what do you think of the practicality of using the following for the url match field ?

Code:
*.*.*.*/(search|custom)?q=cache:

- sidki3003 - Jan. 12, 2005 10:35 AM

Not so practical. It would also match for instance "this.site.com/foo.bar/search?q=cache:"
If you want to match an IP address, you can use "[#0:255].[#0:255].[#0:255].[#0:255]".

Regarding URL matches, it's best if they *fail* as early as possible for all other URLs. Hence unique strings at the beginning are preferable.

I updated a few things again (Jan 10th, "updates" link, first post), including a CSS hack to get the Google caching info in the footer visible in Opera.

I'm probably doing a major update within the next week. If you are missing something, this would be a good moment to express it. Smile!

Planned: More config control options, config control manual (well, sort of), easier IncludeExclude list handling.

ProxRocks, missing any keywords? Wink

i noticed you changed the font color displaying the caching info from black to gray. personally i preferred the black so changed it back.
this is on IE6 btw.

Prolly i'm just visiting too many pages with black background. Wink

Hey sidki,

The only keywords that I have added are .b_url., .noimages., and .a_gifs. ...

I freeze GIFs by default, so although my IncludeExclude does not contain any .a_gif. entries, I do keep a header filter around that enables me to unfreeze specific ones if the need arises in the future (but since I **hate** "animations", be it scrolling text, Flash, or GIFs, I don't honestly see myself allowing any GIFs anyway)...

I use the .noimages. to block ALL images on two SSL sites that are just too dang slow when I allow the images in...

I use .b_url. in a nearly identical fashion to your .b_ssl. filter...
Basically, upon logging out of a few SSL sites, the browser "lands" on a non-SSL site - at least, it "would", if I allowed it to do so...

That's basically all I've done thus far - I'll have some time over the weekend to make sure I'm not missing anything else...

*lol* Good catch! I never thought of adding that, since i just hit ESC in IE and Firefox when i'm getting annoyed. Gonna do that now.

Thanks Smile!

While reading about the "ProxRocks specific SSL handling ™"... btw, "Half-SSL" will get its own config switch and will default to off. That way the user is encouraged to look up what it does. I'll describe the pros and cons of that method in the config control doc. (Thanks JJoe for the heads-up.)

Sidki, could you include a filter like JD's that opens the google searches in a new window. Thanks a lot.
