PtronGUI is an alternative graphical user interface for Proxomitron Reborn. The zip contains the PtronGUI installation patch and a readme. It requires the original "proxo.exe" as extracted from its distribution package. It does not replace the original file, but uses it to patch and install a new file called "proxo+PtronGUI.exe" in the same folder as that original proxo. You can use the file as-is, or rename it to replace your current Proxomitron program file.

Manifest-Free: This latest PtronGUI interface is again manifest-free because of continuing interface issues (the covering up of editor fields) with later versions of Windows theming following XP. PtronGUI utilizes all of the elements of Proxomitron's classic "Textures" feature instead, and I do think the PtronGUI interface is best presented with Textures enabled. Hopefully, you'll find the neutral default textures to be simple and unobtrusive. You can still assign your own textures, of course.

Version numbering: The old PtronGUI version number format has been changed to match the Proxomitron version to be patched with the alpha character (in parens following the version number) representing the revision. The first release, 4.6.0.5(h), is intended for Proxomitron Reborn version 4.6.0.5, and is the eighth build of the PtronGUI interface for that version. (I had solicited input, and I'm a perfectionist, so a number of revisions were being privately reviewed before this first one went public.)

I hope you enjoy the new interface. Good or bad, feedback is welcomed.

Nice improved GUI whilst keeping with tradition mizzmona! Faster access to various functions from GUI and via right-click options, partly also from the connection log window menu bar.
Thanks and best regards, defconnect
