What will happen to the site?
The Yahoo Groups site will continue to exist, however, all public groups will be made private or restricted. Any new group members will need to request an invite or be invited by an admin. Admins will still be able to manage various group settings, though some functionality will be limited.
...

What a shame...
Yep, an online trove about to be lost again. At least this time we have some warning.
If you're subscribed to the prox-list and/or to other groups, you should still be able to get a zip file of the messages, files, links, and possibly more from all of your groups, upon request, until January 31.

You should be able to use this link to submit the request for the data:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/getmydata

Make sure Yahoo has a good email address for you on file to be notified when the data is ready.

I thought initially they only provided what the subscriber had uploaded, but they actually do provide all of the data for all of your groups in one zip file.

Good idea, but there's a chance https://www.archiveteam.org/index.php?ti...oo!_Groups has archived the group too... I didn't know about that group but if you do get an archive perhaps it could be hosted somewhere.
