I see that Sleipnir just updated to version 2.49 and it "looks like" it gives Win2k users an IE7 engine - will cofirm on Win2k at home...

false alarm (guess I suspected as such, actually)...
basically a "translation error" on the Japanese-converted-to-English site in the wording that says Sleipnir uses the IE engine...
