What do you think would be the best components? (Hardware-wise)

I don't want anything TOO expensive, like total cost more than $1,500.

I use my system primarily for applications, but I do play Counterstrike occasionally.

No need to list peripherals (mouse, monitor, keyboard), as the ones I have right now are working fine! Smile!

socket 939 64 bit processor, X2 if you want
Gig of ram or more pc3200 at least
PCI-E motherboard if you want and video card
SLI motherboard if you feel you need it with a couple of vid cards
I usually get a couple of generations old to save a lot of cash and still get good performance.
