As to what should happen with the source code, opinions seem to differ...

Coyotes...*howl*

I agree with Arne that big companies will be trying to buy the source code from his Family. I think that the person who I'd trust most with the source code, if it should ever be given out, it would be Paul of ComputerCops.
Why is Arne upset? he is the one who dumped Proxo, i am glad that there are people who want to continue the legacy of proxo by writing filters etc. Further improvment of Proxo would be limited without the source code unless someone decides to write a similar program.

My choice would actually be JarC, who is one of the most honorable persons i've got to know.
But who knows where he is now (he was ditched at CC)...

Hmm, I don't know who that is, but you know better than me Smile!
JarC/TEggHead Big Teeth
OH! I haven't seen him after Arne's forum went down. He was apparently angry at something.
Nah - He was at prox-list. Sigh, i'm missing those people, they were *so* knowledgeable and helpful...
Uhm - this wasn't meant as a contrast to this place. The people here are knowledgeable and helpful too, of course. Smile!

It's just that there used to be quite a few savvy people around that use Prox for ages and had an immense knowledge about this program and its language. Almost all of them are missing in action now. Sad

Gang;

OK, I'm back, and not too much the worse for wear. Sigh. I really don't need roller coaster rides in life. Straight and smooth --- good (right forearm sweeps horizontally across body at stomach height, fingers extended and palm down (ala James Hetfield)).

What's with Arne's forum board - meaning, why were we sent there? Get this: I arrive at the forum safe and sound, unlogged in (I long since deleted that cookie), and scan the front page. What do I see, but no less than 3 entries from none other than... me!! Dated yesterday, the 21st of July!! (How was I to know that fishing in the Pacific Ocean would telekinetically generate keystrokes at the keyboard my powered-down machine, several hundred miles away?)

This has me highly intrigued, so I log in. No problem, I'm still authorized. I check the topics, and none of supposedly current threads are even remotely current - I'm not even a poster, let alone the latest one, let alone with yesterday's date. Curious, eh?

I checked as best I could, and found only one short mention of Scott's passing. It was at the top of the main page, in the News News section (not a thread, it's at the very top). Was I supposed to be smart enough to find a discussion in one of the threads? If so, I'm an idiot. If not, then I can sleep easier tonight.

Enlightenment, please?

I see Arne's board is back up. According to Arne.........
"In memory of a guy I once knew, this forum will be open again. How long depends on the future."

I am glad Arne has the board back up. There's a wealth of info there that we could use.
Kye-U;

The PM function on this forum isn' t working for me. Please email me as ASAP as possible!!

Was that ASAP enough? Wink

A lot quicker than my reply to you! Sorry 'bout that, I thought we were finished anon, so I didn't check back here tout suite. This should finish the sub-topic, eh?

Now, back to the original thread.....
